Would you like to join the ranks of some of the most successful REALTORS® from around the state? You can by becoming part of the Kentucky REALTORS® Leadership Academy, offered by Kentucky REALTORS® since 2002. Recognizing that leadership development is an essential element in the process of improving our Association and profession, Kentucky REALTORS® attempts to identify emerging REALTOR® leaders in the state, encourage them with motivational activities and assist in sharpening their leadership skills in the hope they will exert a strong positive influence on the future of the Association and profession.The program allows participants to work together in a training course that combines individual study, group sessions and actual project experience in using leadership skills. Training sessions include identification of leadership skills, team-building exercises, goal setting, personal profile analysis, network building, and improving communication skills. In total, there are five in-person (5) sessions – three (3) Kentucky REALTORS® business meetings and two (2) retreats. Additionally, there will be one virtual session in the months without a retreat.The Kentucky REALTORS® Leadership Academy is open to all REALTOR® members of Kentucky REALTORS®, however, a maximum of 12 individuals will be appointed to participate in the program. Participants will be chosen from a cross-section of the profession and will reflect the diversity of the organization.

To graduate from the Kentucky REALTORS® Leadership Academy, a participant is expected to attend all Retreats and 3 KYR Business Meetings. Dates and locations listed below are tentative and subject to change. Scholarship: The Kentucky REALTORS® Leadership Academy program offers one scholarship to a participant (or shared among participants) in the program. Named in memoriam of Carl Adams, a former REALTOR® and member of the 2005 LKYR class, the scholarship will fund tuition and is awarded based on committee recommendation. Objectives of the KRLA program are: To identify Kentucky REALTORS® who have demonstrated leadership potential through job-related and community activities. To train participants by developing leadership skills. To motivate participants by: Increasing awareness of real estate and association management issues and challengesInvolvement in problem-solving activities on issues of current interest; andProviding a network of leaders for the local, state, and national levels of the Association.
